18th-Aug-2011 : Honda India launched the faclifted version of its premium hatchback Honda Jazz today in India at a starting price of Rs5.5 lakh. The new Jazz has been rolled out in three variants, Honda Jazz S, Honda Jazz Select and Honda Jazz X. The New Honda Jazz price for the middle and top end model is Rs5.75 lakh and Rs6.07 lakh(ex showroom Delhi) respectively. The company has slashed the price of the new Honda Jazz to a great extent compared to its forerunner and has also made some cosmetic changes in the new Jazz. Japanese auto manufacturer, Honda Motor Company had introduced its luxurious hatchback model Honda Jazz in India on June 10, 2009. Honda Jazz was the most eagerly awaited small car since Honda announced about its launch, being the first small car in Honda's product portfolio in India. new Honda Jazz is a luxurious small car and is equipped with all luxurious features of a C-segment luxury sedan that leads new Honda Jazz price wise a high end model. However, Honda used the Honda City platform to build this car for reducing the new Honda Jazz price as the overall manufacturing cost would otherwise increase. The launch of new Honda Jazz is the entry of Honda in the small car market in India and it will compete other luxurious hatchbacks of this segment such as Skoda Fabia, Hyundai i20 and Chevrolet SRV.
The new Honda Jazz is a premium hatchback car and is equipped with a 1.2L, 1198cc, 4-cylinder power plant that produces 90PS power @ 6200 rpm and 110 Nm torque @ 4800 rpm. The powerful engine of this car offers great acceleration and enables it to cross the mark of 100kmph in just 11.2 seconds and achieve the top speed mark of 165kmph. The newer version of new Honda Jazz was launched with a 1.3L and a 1.5L engine options in UK while in India it is initially available only with a 1.2L engine. However, for Indian market, company announced that its 1.5L version will also be introduced.
The stylish and sporty exteriors of new Honda Jazz with sharp lines and central bonnet ridge are able to attract the youth. Its premium front chrome grille gives it the Honda CR-V type look but the Silver + Matt colored headlight, steeply raked windscreen, alloy wheels and ellipsoidal glass area, newer tail lamp design and chrome garnishing at the rear makes it the more attractive. New Honda Jazz has been launched with three variants viz. Honda Jazz, Honda Jazz Select and Honda Jazz X and all its variants are equipped with active safety features like dual front airbags, side airbags, ABS (Anti lock Brake System) and EBS. Other attractive features of new Honda Jazz are its leather seats, keyless entry, power steering, power windows, A/C, CD/MP3 players, automatic headlights and many more things. Honda Jazz got the car of the year award
in Japan in year 2001 and 2002 and now new Jazz is ready to storm the Indian market with a few updates.
